Doctor Bios

Dr. Robert J. Knowlton, MD, FRCS(C)

Dr. Robert Knowlton has dedicated his life to the art of cosmetic surgery and is one of the most accomplished plastic surgeons in Canada. Having served as Head of Plastic Surgery at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Toronto for more than 10 years, Dr Knowlton utilizes his extensive experience and the latest in plastic surgery techniques to provide the highest level of cosmetic procedures available.

Dr. David Szalay, MD, Med, FRCS(C)

Dr. Szalay is an Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery and Program Director in Vascular Surgery at McMaster University in Hamilton. His practice covers all aspects of arterial and venous disease. He has twice received the Ganzoni Sigvaris award from the Canadian Society of Vascular Surgery for his work pertaining to venous disorders. Dr Szalay was the first vascular surgeon in Canada to perform EVLT in March 2003 and is one of only two certified Canadian instructors for this technique.

Dr. Peter G. Kalman, MD, FRCSC, FACS

Dr. Kalman has practiced vascular surgery since 1985, and now focuses his attention on minimally invasive endovenous procedures. He recently returned to Canada from the United States where he was Professor, Departments of Surgery and Radiology, and Chief of the Vascular Surgery Division at Loyola University Medical Center, Loyola University Chicago (2002 – 2008). During this period he gained extensive experience performing minimally invasive endovascular procedures for arterial and venous diseases. Before leaving Canada, he was a vascular surgeon at the Toronto General Hospital where he was Director of the Toronto General Vascular Center.
